The Colour Visit Explained

Introduction:

Long gone are the days where root tints & highlights are the most popular in-salon services. Nowadays expert colour technicians take pride in tailoring their approach to exceed guest's expectations. Services such a Balayage, Creative Colours, Colour Changes, Colour Corrections & Root Bleaches can all be achieved within all the salons represented by Salon Invitation. We highly recommend only allowing fully trained colour experts deliver these colour applications on your hair & scalp.

Pre-Colour Preparations:

Before attending, guests meet their colour technician to plan & agreed the final results. Honesty and managing expectations is key.

A colour technician who takes pride in their work will breakdown the entire process and offer alternatives when certain processes are risky for the health of your hair.

An allergy test is always required prior to having your first colour application at the salon, even if you've had one done at another salon in the past. The salon will ALWAYS require one be done at least 48-hours prior to the application.

Beautiful Colour Starts & Ends With Healthy Hair

Whats Included:

The Salon Invitation colour visit includes:

  1. Any colour application (45 minutes or less)
  2. Setting time to develop the colour (45 minutes or less)
  3. A Blow Dry (30 minutes or less)

If the end result discussed during the pre-colour preparations can be achieve within this time frame, it's included in your visit.

Personalisation:

If additional time is required to achieve the outcome discussed during the pre-colour preparations, an in-salon supplement can be paid on the day of your visit. This will be pre-discussed and pre-agreed. No surprises, promise.

Salons charge a supplement between £20 and £35 per 15-minutes of additional application time to stretch the appointment to achieve your desired outcome. Realistic options achievable within the allocated 45-minutes will always also be discussed.

High lift applications, sometimes also referred to as bleaching, may also require products such as "Olaplex" or "Botanical Colour Trio" to ensure the integrity of the hair is maintained. As a Salon Invitation holder, you have access to these within the exclusive service menu when attending your visit.

Managing Expectations:

Highlights:

  • The highlighting service is bespoke.
Generic terms such as "half-head" or "parting foils" or "t-section" are exactly that, generic. Our team of colour experts take all factors into consideration during the pre-colour preparations to clearly define what can be achieved within the 45 minute colour application included within your Salon Invitation.
  • A "full head" of highlights CAN NEVER be achieved within a 45 minutes colour application.
Balayage:
  • An existing balayage can OFTEN, but not always, be lifted or refreshed within 45 minute colour application. Your personal colour requirements will be discussed & planned during your pre-colour preparations.
  • Starting a balayage from scratch CAN NEVER be achieved within 45 minutes. An additional 45 to 120 minutes is usually required to achieve a beautiful result when having your first balayage. An agreed in-salon supplement is charged to achieve this result on the day of your visit.
  • An existing balayage needing a root tint to achieve full coverage and needing to be lifted CAN NEVER be achieved within 45 minutes.

Full Head Colour:

  • Going from a light to a darker colour, CAN be achieved within 45 minutes.
  • Going from a dark to a lighter colour, CAN NEVER be achieved within 45 minutes. This process is often referred to as a colour correction and must be carried out by a skilled colour expert. A colour consultation must be performed to establish the process and the amount of extra time needed.

High Lift / Beaching Services

  • A root lift of 1 inches (2.5cm) or less CAN be achieved in 45 minutes. If you measure from the knuckle of your thumb, to the tip of your thumb, that is approximately 1 inch (2.5cm). In terms of regrowth, it usually represents approximately 4-6 weeks of regrowth.
  • A root lift of more than 1 inches (2.5cm) CAN NEVER be achieved in 45 minutes. This services often referred to as a colour correction and must be carried out by a skilled colour expert.
  • A full head beach CAN NOT be achieve in 45 minutes.

Creative Colours:

If your hair is already pre-lightened and supports the end result, it MAY be possible to achieve this within the allowed 45-minute application using creative colours & toners.

Pinks, pastels and uniquely individualised colour applications CAN NEVER be achieved in 45 minutes.

Product Usage:

Each salon carefully calculates how much colouring products they use. For example, a standard 45-minute highlighting application normally uses a combination of colour products totalling approximately 30 grams.

The colour usage will also be discussed during your colour consultation.

If more than the allocated amount of colouring products is required to achieve the end result, an in-salon supplement will be charged.

Conclusion:

The aim of the multiple visit Salon Invitation is to develop a long-term, trusting relationship with their new guests; not to simply make a quick buck and never see the client again. The key here is trust.

Their talented colour technicians have been honing in their craft for several years. They can achieve results while keeping the hair looking and feeling healthy.

In purchasing a Salon Invitation, clients pre-purchase an amount of time in the salon's columns. Should the end-result desired require more time, the salon will do everything they can to demonstrate they can achieve and surpass your expectations. When extra time is needed, a pre-agreed, in-salon supplement will be charged on the day of your visit to stretch your appointment time.
